Know what tastes delicious but isn’t that pretty in pictures? Yea I know most meats lol. Poor brown once again getting criticized unnecessarily. OK enough let’s get back on track, lip smacking, finger licking slow roasted Ribs. I am not sure there is any thing more tasty. Plus as a bonus so very easy to cook if you have a day to wait and relax.
Slow Roasted Ribs
The key to tender fall off the bone ribs, a full day in the oven, This is my advise for those of us who may not own acreage where we can slow roast meat outside. This is for those of us who love tender ribs but have real life basic kitchens and yards. No special appliances other than a stove and a BBQ.
We do love our pork ribs and honestly no one I know does them better than Kent. He has the secret ingredient “Patience”. On a serious not the key is low temps and lots of time.
How to Cook Pork Ribs
The quick and easy, get your ribs ready. A rub is always the best way to start and this is going to change with taste. We, meaning Kent always starts with his homemade “Bone Dust”. He modified Ted Readers Bone Dust and it is AMAZING. He preps the slab or slabs of ribs with the rub and then places them in the oven at 225. The oven roasted portion lasts, wait for it…. 8, yep eight hours
After the ribs are ready he removes them from the oven, slathers them in BBQ sauce and throws them on the BBQ. Leave them on the BBQ for maybe 10 minutes, long enough to caramelize the sauce and get a slight char.
Additional Seasoning for BBQ Ribs
This past weekend Kent made Ribs but he used a mesquite seasoning from A Cajun Life that we were sent. Lipsmacking great I tell you. We sure do love our ribs. Thanks to A Cajun Life we have a few other seasonings to try.
