Jumpers are incredibly basic clothing items. There’s not much complexity about them. You simply pull them over and they fit over your arms and torso. There’s no tassle, no fitting structure, no hemline, usually no need to pick one neckline over another and it just works.
Anyone can wear a jumper and look good. This is perhaps why it’s finally been appreciated by so many fashion magazines. Elle, Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Esquire all have jumper trends in their latest fashion feature articles. The great thing is, they can be made with different materials, they are a big canvas for designs, they can be worn loose, they go well with jeans, skirts and different accessories. We thought it would be a great idea to cover these and show that the old smelly jumper could become your latest jewel in your wardrobe.
Cropped jumpers and cardigans
Cropped tops are usually something that the younger generation might wear and why not hey? Being young and full of life, having great skin and being toned, is bound to spur on confidence in how you dress. But cropped cardigans and jumpers are also being worn by women of all ages.
They help you to look youthful but not boastful. Cropped cardigans are great with jeans. If you have a tube top to go along with it this would be great, especially if they match. You could wear a purple cardigan that goes just up to your bellybutton and with it, a tube top of the same material and color. Wearing jeans with this would be great. It’s a kind of mix between a fall outfit and a summer outfit.
Cropped jumpers go well with skirts as well. Bell skirts are great, but those with floral patterns could be better. Draped and ruffle skirts would go well and give you a classic look that has stood the test of time.
With accessories
Jumpers are blank canvases in the fashion world. We expect to see unique designs on the front and back and they give plenty of opportunity to be creative and experimental. But they also go well with accessories. You may not think that accessories go with some outfits but for some reason, when you wear a jumper it just seems to work. They feel like they get absorbed by the jumper, giving your more room to wear what you want.
If you want offset hair, take a look at the wavy brunette canada wigs has to offer. It would go well with a bright greenjumper and blond hair, and you could also consider straight hair that fits the main color of the design. So if the design is of a tree or perhaps a deer, your hair could be the same color as the figure to match.
Why they go well with skirts
Jumpers have always gone well with skirts, but they probably did this in the mainstream during the 70s. This is when you saw many groovy girls and disco chicks begin to wear jumpers that didn’t have a neckline, were draped around the shoulders and they wore acrylic skirts with knee high boots.
It’s something that you would have seen in one of the James Bond films of the era, with the curly hair and a dome shaped bonet. This is something that has carried on to today. You see many girls in New York wearing jumpers with skirts. They keep their arms warm and they still show off their boots and taste in skirt styles. It’s a strange mix we know, but it just works.
It could be that skirts and jumpers are kind of opposites. You normally think of jumpers being worn in the fall and winter, skirts in the spring and summer. That’s probably why it has stayed in style because it’s so yin and yang; unusual, unique, etc.
Bracelets and Necklaces
Jumpers have always gone well with bracelets and necklaces. They prevent them from looking too long, too conseervative and going over the thumb and wrists. It’s a great way to wear jewelry that remains visible.
Jumpers are easy to style, they look great on almost anyone and they break down the generation boundaries. If you’re young, old or somewhere in between ,jumpers will and should always be part of your wardrobe.
