Terry’s Orange Chocolate Shortbread
Ingredients for the Shortbread
Check your cupboards, have what you need?
1 Cup margerine ( I use butter)
1/2 cup icing sugar ( also known as confectionery sugar)
1/2 tsp orange zest ( I usually skip this and they still taste great)
2 cups flour
1 Terry’s Chocolate Orange
How do you make Terry’s Orange Chocolate Shortbread?
Let’s start with the basics and preheat the oven shall we, Heat oven to 350
1)Break your orange into slices and break each slice in half, set aside. No cheating you need all the pieces
2)Beat Butter and icing sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy, add zest, gradually add in flour, beating well after each additional ingredient is added.
3) Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls, take a piece of chocolate and insert into ball make sure the chocolate piece is covered with the cookie dough, place two inches apart on baking sheet ( I always cover cookie sheet in parchment paper)
4)Flatten slightly
5)Bake cookies for 20 minutes, remove from oven and immediately place a piece of chocolate on each cookie.
6) Let cool on cookie sheet for three minutes.

I have always only had plain shortbread cookies. The addition of the chocolate orange sounds like it would both enhance the sweetness as well as add some moistness. The touch of the Hershey's Hugs on top gives the dessert a whimsical feel.
