During our recent trip to Collingwood we had the opportunity to partake in a few craft beers. You might not know this but Collingwood has an amazing selection of Craft Breweries, Cidery’s and Wineries. Our type of vacation spot. And lets not forget the scenery, great people and restaurants. We had the opportunity to spend a week in the area in November and now I want to give you a bit of insight into what we saw, what we did and maybe give you an urge to go visit. Next up is Georgian Winery
Georgian Hills grapes come from vines growing on the hills overlooking Georgian Bay. The region’s unique terrior of soils and climate influences the wine styles and flavours. Taste the distinct cool climate wines with their vibrant fruit and refreshing acidity. Tour the vineyards and winery; linger for a while and taste award-winning Georgian Hills wines paired with artisanal cheeses.
When you browse the Vineyard site you will see that their vision is to achieve a sustainable winery and vineyards in Beaver Valley, with a long term goal to develop a successful wine industry in the Georgian Bay region.
I love the tasting room, and could picture sitting in front of the fireplace on a cold winter day sipping some warm cider. The decor was spot on for me, the wooden trees and reindeer could be something you would find in my home, oh wait….. I think you can find them.
We did a wine tasting and I left disappointed that the cider I liked was sold out. Oh well maybe next time.
