If you are just joining me hop back to my first post in this series, Ravine for the start of a wonderful trip through Ontario Wine Country.
The next stop during our Wine Adventure was Southbrook, We have not yet been to this vineyard in all of our trips but we were in for a treat.

*Southbrook Vineyards is the epitome and evolution of Marilyn and Bill Redelmeier’s love story with wine, the land, and all things “local.” The winery is situated on a 150-acre vineyard in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula wine region of Ontario, Canada. They produce organic and biodynamic wines that earn recognition, from critics and consumers alike, year after year

*The pavilion itself is a delicate glass structure set against a 200-metre long, three-metre high landscape wall. The wall marks the entrance to the winery

*Coloured a periwinkle-blue against the green of the vines in summer and the white of winter’s snow, the wall anchors the light-filled pavilion in the landscape. Inside, it is punctuated by recessed wine displays, storage and a wine library, with full-height glass vaults containing aging barrels of wine. Finished with pigmented stucco, the wall colour changes with the day’s light — from deep blue and periwinkle to dove grey

Inside a wall of glass separates the tasting area and provides a scenic view to the vineyards.

Our visit started with a sampling of the whites from Triomphe, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, followed by a rose.

The reds then followed, of note most of the wines are only available at the vineyard or online. For a review of their full selection I would recommend a visit to the website ( unless you can make a trip to the actual vineyard.)

The building itself is unique, an extreme opposite from last weeks visit to the  200 year old home that houses Ravine

Southbrook also carries a selection of wine infused condiments that I just had to purchase.

All in all a very elegant and modern vineyard that prides itself on its organic and biodynamic viticulture. A vineyard encompassing all things green, the epitome of a modern Winery.
If you are ever in Niagara Region add Southbrook to your list. Next week we head to Lailey

Still hanging way out on a limb here and continuing with my wine series linkup. I am going to ask you if you have any wines posts or stories or maybe just anything booze related to link up with me today heck, even if its a post of the outfit you wore while out drinking you are welcome..

Linking with Treasure Tromps today

So for now, now rules but it would be great if ya linked back to me, let’s try this out folks.

*excerpts from the Vineyard’s website,  please note I was not compensated for this review nor contacted by the company, just providing yet another review of a vineyard we loved.

the great think about Vineyards is even if you do not drink they are cool places to visit ( and those that have restaurants have wonderful food)

Definitely a different feel from the last winery! The modern elements and decor are so chic though!

I wish I could link up…I have never been to a winery but I am dying to get to one. Western NY has several that I'd love to visit in the fall. You're inspiring me to do so!

Thanks Anne, not a popular topic visiting vineyards but hopefully the theme will catch on. You truly need to go visit. Western NY is on our Agenda as well
