Good Golly Miss Molly, its January 13th and I am just now sharing my Snowman Sweater.  Tis true folks this is how I celebrated Ugly Christmas Sweater day.  A fun snowman cardigan and matching converse.  December 20th that was Ugly Christmas Sweater day.  Almost four weeks ago, what the heck have I been doing?

Celebrating Ugly Christmas Sweater Day

Did you celebrate Ugly Christmas Sweater Day?  Do you wear these fun sweaters or avoid them like crazy?  I must confess I have a bit of a collection. Red ones, blue ones, penguins, glitter, snowman, gosh even mistletoe.  Strangely though,I never thought of them as ugly sweaters just seasonal ones.

National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day is a day of light hearted fun and a day to be yourself and not that buttoned up corporate version of yourself you have grown to despise. Most importantly, National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day is a day to make the holidays fun…the way they were intended to be!

When is National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day?

When is National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day you ask?  National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day is celebrated on the third Friday of December each year. In 2020, it falls on Friday, Dec 18th. I mean hello, mark your calendar you don’t want to miss this again.  I am already planning which beauty I might wear (or buy).

How do you Celebrate this day?

It’s a pretty simple day to participate in for sure.  I think I can sum it up in four very easy steps.

  • BUY AN UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER

There are a lot of options out there – including a variety of cute, naughty and funny Christmas sweater designs. Personally I have found great sweaters at Target and Kohls to name just a few.

  • WEAR YOUR SWEATER FOR THE ENTIRE DAY

Rock your sweater all day and all night, from the time you wake up till the time you sleep. The sweater must stay on.

  • Spread the word

Share this special day with friends and help spread the word. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people participate in National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day, and with your help, this movement will grow.  Just like the Grinch’s heart three sizes too big so we may have to celebrate for a week.

Take a picture and share it on Instagram, Facebook, twitter, snapchat.  Heck share it everywhere and use the                  hashtag #uglychristmassweaterday.  Let’s make the holidays fun peeps.  Put a smile on someones face, wish                  them a Mery Christmas as you stroll on by in your awesome knitwear.

My Ugly Sweater and Look of the Day

I have this sweater a time or two.  2017 was a Denim and white shirt look.  2016 had me styling checked joggers, and 2018 Rain Boots and a Dress.  Once again, so many fun looks featuring a fun little seasonal sweater

Funny this sweater is probably 19 years old but when you only wear something one or twice a year and then pack it away it wears well.  Plus there is something about the Vintage Christmas Sweaters that are classic.  Today I stuck with my Haggar denims and a classic blue tank.  Plus did ya notice how well the Converse match the sweater? New for 2019 my buddy Jack Frost.  I think he needs a new sweater for next year.
