Happy October 5th, a day for fall leaves and pumpkin spice and maybe even some fun pumpkins. My love of decorating for the season is by now well known. I constantly am looking for home accessories that can take the mundane to the wonderful. Well, not that my porch was mundane but it still needed a slight wow punch I thought, this year I added a few fun additions.
Fall the decorating possibilities are endless I started changing up the decor in the house, the standard wreath change over and then the Front door and porch. Crazy though normally I start with the table and go from there. OK to be honest I did start with the table but I am saving that post till Saturday.
Celebrating Fall
Decorating for Fall is the best, honestly one is never limited to a single colour scheme, anything goes. The Reds, Golds and Oranges maybe traditional but heck Pink, teal and aqua are just as seasonal. My porch is traditional oranges and creams with a touch of taupe but as you know Pink found it’s way into the season last year. This year I will not disappoint, pink and teal are back with a vengeance. My Christmas is all pink, the tree, the table, so why not fall too.
The Porch for Fall
Scarecrows and pumpkins have been the norm for a few seasons, 2016 Porch was all traditional with white wicker. 2017, well I am not sure why but I never actually shared a post. I think that was my lost month when I lost all my blog posts and I am still trying to recover some of them Man that was a horrible time I actually lost the whole blog, completely gone. Thanks to Bluehost and Kristen from My 3 Little Kittens I got it back but a month of posts was photo absent. FYI, ever need any help with wordpress, Kristen is your gal.
OK now back to the porch. This year I ended an awesome vintage shutter, a bale of straw and my chalkboard easel. The scarecrows have been with me for a while a have the pumpkins and Flowers. Michael’s has always had everything I wanted and needed.
My poor little scarecrow got mauled by the squirrels last year. They stole his arms. I know I should have retired him but he is just too cute and I will figure a way to give him new arms. Adding the easel chalkboard adds a special touch, not sure why I never added it in the past. It is a summer staple normally but Pumpkin is it’s colour I think.
Shutters and Straw
The vintage shutter was a great find this year. Makes the corner really stand out. I am already planning a Winter scene using the grey shutter. The possibilities are endless. Are you ready for Fall? What do you do on the front porch? I have been fascinated with Living on Cloud Nine’s Buffalo check porch. I am not planning on changing my porch but I sure will be setting a buffalo check Table this season. Stay tuned for that fun look.
Cat Photo Bomber
Pumpkin the next door cat decided he wanted to model. His fascination with the decor on the front steps had him staring. Or maybe he was waiting for Lou, most likely the later. I think he likes it though.
