Happy Hump Day and welcome to 2018. We are starting the trip back home from Atlanta. What a great time we had but holy hannah, why did no-one warn me about the hills. I had no idea that Atlanta was so full of hills. My legs are hating me and thanking me at the same time. I figured on a plus note all the hills and all the steps over the last five days may help offset the additional calories consumed over the holidays.
Atlanta and the Peach Bowl
What a game, I honestly was not sure if I could go for Auborn or UCF Knights. I admit I am thrilled the Knights won. Imagine they did what the Patriots could not. Completed an undefeated season with winning the trophy. Plus I got to watch a young man who has overcome great odds be awarded the MVP Defense. Imagine a linebacker with only one hand.
As the Orlando Sentinel’s Shannon Green reports, Griffin was born with amniotic band syndrome. An exceedingly rare congenital birth defect, which affects less than one in a thousand babies. Griffin got it, and when he was 4 years old, his left hand had to be amputated.
In 2016 Griffin went on to finish the regular season No. 7 in the country in sacks and win American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors, leading UCF to a 6-6 bounceback year after an 0-12 2015. Fast forward to 2017 and UCF went 12-0.
What an amazing feat and an even more awesome young man, and I got to watch him win the game and the trophy.
Interested in Bowl Games? I have been to the Belk Bowl, The Liberty Bowl, Music City Bowl, Birmhingham Bowland Citrus Bowl as well as the Peach Bowl.
Seasonal Sweater and Winter in the Capital
For today, I am driving from Atlanta to Harrisonburg Virginia. You can count on the fact that I am not looking anywhere near presentable as I have no plans to see anyone. Forget my “Air Travel” rules they don’t count in long car rides. 21 hours over two days call for comfort and convenience.
I am however sharing a fun over the holiday look I actually did wear. At the start of my holidays I dressed for a casual shopping day. I found these distressed denims at Target a few years ago and I do not wear them enough. ( That is changing and they were packed in my suitcase this week and worn). I topped the look off with a comfortable cami and a funNorthern Reflections Sweater that is probably older than the kids in my life. Slight exaggeration the sweater is only 15 years old. The red converse make it a fun snow look right?
Shop the look
The sweater is no longer available but I tried to find some similar pieces just in case you like this look.
