Happy Tuesday and hope all my American friends had an amazing Memorial Day Weekend. Today’s post is all about the favourite pieces. Honestly this Old Navy Stripe Dress is on repeat. The long sleeves are perfect for the chill that remains and the fleece material is so comfy. In addition the tie detailing makes it a tad dressier. Also did ya notice the Yellow Converse are back in play. That means summer is just around the corner.
Fun facts and My Week
Starting out a little different today. First how about that fun picture. It is the last one in my Disappearing Snow Series. OK I totally did not have a series but I did share a lot of the look at this piece of property. The re-appearing flag pole as the snow disappeared.
This week I am in the “416” aka Toronto. Was a tad disappointed with my room but then I realized Raptors are playing so rooms are at a premium. No the Raptors are not dinosaurs. It is Canad’s grand entrance into the NBA. Yes I realize we have been here for awhile but.. Come on Folks pretty exciting for the country that invented Basketball to finally be in the finals.
Basketball and the Canadian Connection
So are you scratching your head over the basketball fact I shared? Did you know that a Canadian invented Basketball? Invented in 1891 by Canadian-American gym teacher James Naismith in Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. basketball has evolved to become one of the world’s most popular and widely viewed sports.
But even more important he was born and raised on a farm near Almonte, Ontario. Mr Naismith studied physical education at McGill University (in Montreal) before moving to the United States, where he designed the game of basketball in late 1891 while teaching at the International YMCA Training School. Know what else Almonte is a very tiny town about 50 KM’s from my home. So there ya have it history lesson of the day.
Old Navy Stripes and Yellow Converse
So now that we have all learned something let’s talk clothes. I mean it always comes back to clothes right. I found this Old Navy Dress last April but alas it is no longer available. Why is it that the “classic pieces” that stay year after year in the stores never are the ones you want. Old Navy could you bring this back in a cream and yellow stripe? That would be really fun.
Oh well my gain, your loss I guess because this is the perfect little dress. Worn with leggings or even white denim for cool Spring or Fall Days. Worn with Converse in different colours or even Adidas for a fun change.
Now I realize I did just wear this dress last week so boring blogger right? But it goes to show that the pieces you love should be on repeat. Dress for yourself and wear what you love.
Today yellow converse just seemed to bring the sun out. Plus it made me smile
