Travel is always a lot of fun. It’s one of the only things that you can spend money on and feel richer because of. And so, it’s absolutely fantastic if you want to be able to add more travel into your lifestyle. However, whether you’re looking to take a short city break, an indulgent beach holiday, or even something longer, you’ll want to think about the preparations. If you want to enjoy your trip, you’ll want to ensure that you have everything ready. It’s all too easy to leave everything to the last minute because you underestimate how long everything takes or what you actually need to do. And this can then make you feel stressed out before you head out. Honestly, why start your vacation fighting with each other before you even leave the house right?
Some people already have a great routine for travel prep. But just in case you don’t have one already I thought I could help. It’s nothing to fret about yet, you’ll find that you can create one relatively easily especially with my helpful tips lol. . Now it is all pretty straightforward, if you’re getting on a plane (or even hitting the road), there’s always a standard series of steps that you’ll need to go through. Thus making it super easy for you to get into a rhythm. In order for you to get there, you’ll want to know exactly what you need to do so as you don’t miss a thing! Here’s what you need to do to be ready.
-
Confirm Your Bookings
To start with, you’re going to want to make sure that you confirm the different bookings you have in place. It’s easy to just assume that you’re going to be okay. But just to be sure and to avoid any misunderstandings, perhaps you’d want to call and confirm. That way, you can just enjoy everything and move on to other important preparations. I find printing them off and storing them in my travel kit helps as well. Electronic is good but what if there is no wifi?
-
Passports & Tickets At The Ready
As you’re getting your luggage ready, you need to be sure that you have your passports and tickets ready and in hand. You do not want to just assume they’re in the bag, get to the airport and realize that you’ve forgotten them. Keep them close and safe, along with your money. Which, by the way, you’ll also want to ensure that you have covered.
-
Check Your Insurance
Now that you have your ticket and passport all taken care of , you’ll now need to ensure that you have the most important protection– your insurance. Trust me don’t just go for the cheapest option here. Take a look at the travel insurance common questions to ensure you’ve got the knowledge you need. Then be sure to choose the most important level of cover for your needs. It’s best to be safe and not sorry. This is something that I struggled with for a long timje, especially when I was younger. Nah I don’t need it. True fact for you our boys who are 26 and 28 do not travel anywhere without insurance. They are the ones who convinced me I was being silly not protecting our plans.
-
Book The Car In!
If you are going to an airport, then you need to make sure that you’ve booked your airport parking too. It’s easy to forget, but the earlier you do it, the cheaper it’ll often be. Or maybe you don’t want to drive? If that’s the case, then why not think about getting a taxi? Again, if you’re going with this, you’ll then want to make sure that you book it in.
-
Check your Liquids
Another thing that you need to be incredibly vigilant about, is the liquids that you are taking within your hand luggage. Because, as you know or should know, you are limited to what you can take on the plane itself. With something like a bottle of water, you can buy that when you get through or carry an empty one to refill on the other side. If you have lotions or creams or liquid makeup, you’ll need to make sure that they are within the limits and in a clear bag.
-
Dress The Part
Also be sure that you have suitable clothes to wear you’re going. If you need walking shoes, swimsuits, or protective clothing, keep this in mind. Also ensure that you’re dressed comfortably for the journey too. Plan ahead, think of what activities you want to do and make a list.
-
Get Into Holiday Mode!
And finally, you’re then going to want to make sure that you’re able to actually get into holiday mode and enjoy what’s to come. When you wake up and you’re on your way to the airport, be excited – not stressed. You’re all packed, you’ve done the leg work, and as long as you have money, passports, and tickets, when it comes to everything else – you’ve got what you’ve got. So let the trip begin at the airport and have a little fun!
