It is December and almost time to break out the Christmas Sweaters. Tis the season of Ugly and not Ugly sweaters but for today just a bit of seasonal green to get you in the mood. Broke out the Green Velvet Moto Jacket to make it feel like I was heading to the office.
Dressing for the Holidays at Home
It has been a strange and weird Fall leading into winter. Am I the only one feeling that? Now don’t get me wrong I love working at home and the zero commute but I miss dressing up. Now I recognize I can dress up at home but it still feels weird. I am still balancing sort of dressy with casual comfort.
After nine months I think I have found a grove but I seem to have many pieces on repeat. Three quarters of my closet has been sitting begging for me to wear them. And let’s not even talk about all the sad little heels in my closet. Covid style has changed my daily look for sure. Trying to focus on shopping the closet and mixing up my exisiting pieces.
The Green Moto and My Work Style
One consistent element is tunics, dresses and leggings. Comfort meets fashion. I think my work style equals my travel style of the past. Dress as if I would be on an airplane but people will see me. Although no-one sees me except on zoom lol.
This is not a new to the blog outfit, I mean the dress and moto do go well together right? It is just I have been lazy and wearing the same pieces, so I am trying to re-bump the style side of me.
If you recall I have worn these pieces before. The Moto has the best story, I walked in to Forever 21 in Atlanta and I saw this jacket, for $12.00. I was like the lady in the IKEA commercial… “Start the Car” . I mean really look at this beauty, green, velvet and Moto. What is not to love? Throw it over a fun embroidered dress I found at Target ( also 11.00) and I am in new outfit love.
My Giant Tiger Boots are the perfect addition. The sole is great for inside the house but I still feel like I have dressed for the office. As much as I have not been wearing me heels in the house I do still wear boots or shoes. Age has created an issue, these feet do not deal well with slippers all day.
And good golly Miss Molly I cannot let a post go without Christmas talk. I am completely done my decorating and am on to the baking. Kent finally put his tree up today so I feel ready. Not sure why his not having the final tree up caused me angst. I just wanted it all done and ready.
Are you finished? When do you start? I am actually a November 11th gal, prepping for the season after Reembrace Day. Many wait till after the American Thanksgiving or December 1st but I like to start early,
I love the tree and the fun decor. Sitting and watching the lights and savouring the feelings of the season.
