It’s travel Tuesday and based on the weather I am ready for another trip. Ever feel like Winter may never leave and Spring has forsaken us? Just when I think we may see a turn it starts to SNOW again. Please mother nature stop messing with us. In the meantime the winter wardrobe gets an extended season. Lumberjack Check or Buffalo Plaid just seemed to work for today.
This weekend I actually got busy. Spending a week sick has me so far behind I wasn’t sure I would ever catch up. Some how a wave of energy hit me and I just got rolling. A trip to the Humane Society to make a donation, re-did my shoe room with all new shelving and somehow I even managed to efile our taxes. Holy moly right?
To continue on my energetic roll I tested out a new Caramilk Cheesecake recipe and got three blog posts done. I was a machine I tell ya. The cheesecake recipe looked great but I need to make a few adjustments so yep cheesecake again this weekend. Do you create new dessert recipes? Stick with the tried and true? I love playing with new flavours and creating fun treats. This weekend was all about trying to find the perfect blend of chocolate and caramel in a cheesecake. Stay tuned for the final product.
Blogging wise I went a bit eclectic. Three posts and about six sets of picture edits and all on vastly different topics. I caught up with my last week of outfits, finalized some vacation picks, created a travel post, a donation post and a food post. Lord I am a girl of many faces. Do you blog steady or in a frenzy? When I started I was so spot on regular. A daily post done always on time and sometimes two. Fast forward to my last few months and I feel like I am blogging on crack. OK bad reference but do you understand what I am comparing it too?
I go through a few dry spurts where I just don’t seem to have time and then BAHM, energizer bunny mode and I go blog crazy. I need to start planning my agenda better and make better use of the energy spurts. Now on to what Linda is wearing today….
Buffalo Plaid or Lumberjack Check
Red and black check is that buffalo plaid or lumberjack check? Well if you are a fashionista I think the proper term is “Buffalo plaid” the cool title. If you are Canadian , it has always been lumberjack. The tradition red and black check often seen when chopping wood. Or if you happen to live in Ottawa the team colours of the Canadian Football Team the Red Blacks.
My sweater was a great find at the Bay several years ago. It is so versatile and pretty much suitable for any look. White jeans really show up the colours, a plaid skirt offers a fun contrast and even skinny jeans or distressed jeans add different dimensions. Today I went with a solid black Ponte Pant from Giant Tiger. A fun pair of booties (or rather one boot) and a fun necklace completed the look.
Did ya notice the matching sock? I was still recovering from the broken toe and I added a plaid sock. I am finally back to two shoes/boots. Awful how long a broken toe can last isn’t it.
