Well that was a busy weekend, honestly I am not sure I could have added any other activity to my days. Parc Omega, Ottawa Champions, Spark Street Ribfest, shopping and pool time. Just listing it all is exhausting. Plus I started pre-planning some blog posts so I have been editing and creating like crazy. Today was also a shop my closet day, needed to match the mauve slingbacks I found this winter.
Spark Street Ribfest
Friday after work we hightailed it up to Spark Street. The Annual rib fest is on and we could not ignore the call of the ribs and pork. It has become a tradition on the Friday night of the festival to grab a few different dinners. Sample ribs, chicken and pork from several BBQ’ers are on the menu. We grab the dinners, head home and have a buffet poolside.
This year we had to also make a pitstop at Stray Dog. They created a new Pale Ale, Tropical Knockout. It has all my favourite flavours and a flamingo on the can. I know it was made for me.
Saturday started early for me. I had to be up and out before 8:00 A.M.. I was heading to Parc Omega for the morning to join a group of bloggers and photographers. It was an opportunity to discover Canada’s wildlife such as moose, elk, bison, wolves and bears all within their natural environment. We got to ride in the open air bus and watch the wolves and bears get feed. What an amazing experience
The park is located 1:30 hour from Montreal and 1 hour from Ottawa. It offers several activities for all ages such as animations, picnic areas, hiking trails every day of the year. Discover the history of our nation through the colonization and First Nations trail.
This was my first visit and I cannot wait to go back. I also cannot wait to share all the beauty I discovered and maybe share a few animals pics.
Next up was a Saturday Evening baseball Game with another group of Ottawa Bloggers and photographers. OK truth be told some of us did both activities together. We went to the Ottawa Champions game and had a blast.
The Ottawa Champions Baseball Club (French: Les Champions d’Ottawa) is a professional baseball team based in Ottawa. The Champions made their debut as a member of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball (Can-Am League) in 2015. They won their first league championship in 2016
They play their home games at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park which is where we went to play or watch. A fun experience in one of the suites. Visits with the coaching staff, a trip around the diamond and even a diamond dig was how our night went. Stay tuned as I want to share all the fun we had.
So are we tired yet? sounds like a busy weekend right? To top it off Sunday was shopping and of course pool time. Honestly I am sitting here now pleasantly tired, or maybe totally exhausted. Working for the weekends takes on a whole new meaning at times. Now for those who just like fashion or style or just clothes how about some mauve and purple.
Mauve Slingbacks and Target Style
I found the most perfect pair of mauve slingbacks back in February. While shopping at Target in Florida I stumbled upon the perfect shoe. Great heel, beautiful colour and on sale. Target always understands me. The shoes languished in my closet till summer arrived. Something about slingbacks and snow that just do not pair well.
I went closet shopping to find the right outfit. Once the sun started shining it was time to break out the shoes. My purple Dress from Banana Republic is a few years old. I always seem to wear it with this fun cardina but I often change the shoes and jewellery. Purple Shoes, Aqua Toms, Go Jane Heels yet every wear seems like a new outfit. Changing shoes, jewellery and a purse can make one feel brand new.
