Happy Good Friday Everyone. Struggling to keep the smile at the ready as I contemplate 28 more days. But in actually fact easy to smile with the Star Dog Joggers I am wearing. Well that was a subtle introduction wasn’t it, lol.
Truth be told I really am smiling because of the Joggers. Not one to be a show up to work in joggers pre-covid but these are working for me. Comfortable and stylish and something totally unexpected from me.
Life Lately at A Labour of Life
So before we dive into how stylish I am and what I am wearing lets talk life lately. As I said earlier the lockdown continues, work still remains at home and I miss hugs and people and family. I miss travel and visiting vineyards and breweries. I miss music events and parties.
I miss having dinner parties and entertaining. OK enough of the maudlin ramblings, we all miss everything pre 2020 am I right? Dreaming of normal days with friends over has become a bigger deal than winning the lottery (almost).
I have found myself caught in the circle of life and trying to shake things up. Days of going to work in my basement, zoom calls and endless emails. I have spiraled and lost my mojo at times. Adding a few new courses to my routine trying to rekindle the passion of the blog.
Don’t get me wrong I still love blogging. Taking endless pictures of crafts, tables food and yes even fashion. Yet I spend my evenings mindlessly staring at the TV unable to find the spark to create. Today begin a renewed passion.
Star Dog Joggers
CHANGING THE STATUS QUO, ONE HOODIE AT A TIME – that is the motto of Star Dog Loungewear. The beginning of their journey. A company campaigning for an industry where people work in harmony with the environment, rather than destroy it.
Growing the finest quality organic hemp fibres allows them to equip their tailors with the very best materials to design and craft amazing loungewear. Now that aside just from me, the softest material imaginable. A jogger that embraces the skin, better than the best PJ’s in the world. #slowfashion at it’s finest.
When Star Dog contacted me about working together I was intrigued. Clothing from hemp is something Kent has always embraced and loved but how would I feel.
Hemp in Clothing
I did a bit of research. The hem plant is easy to grow and very resistant to pests. Plus, Hemp is one of the highest Co2-absorbing plants and, when compared to cotton, it’s four times stronger and uses 20x less water in its growth and production. How amazing that the carbon footprint can be so low for a material so fine.
And best of all, Hemp clothing breathes well, allowing the skin to feel cool when warm and cool when hot, all while absorbing sweat and preventing odor-causing bacteria. It also has the ability to mould to your body shape and get softer after each wash, unlike other fabrics.
The perfect material for my favourite joggers. They also make Tee, Henleys and bathrobes. Actually they make a lot more than than including facemasks and sweaters.
The Shein Shacket
Can we stop a moment and talk about the Shacket? I finally caved and bought into the trend. The Shirt/Jacket. True confession we always use to call this a lumberjack shirt back in the 90’s. And I owned one then. No honest I did, it was a true blue working jacket that my step dad gave me.
I still own it, and it is a beautiful pink plaid but covered in paint and dirt. I probably shared it on the blog back in the day while I was working outside. Todays ne version is a fashion statement not a working statement. Plus it pairs perfectly with my joggers making for a comfortable but still stylish look.
Have you followed the trend? Show me your version and how you are styling it.
