Ever get that feeling that Spring is never going to come for a visit? I mean honestly I feel like I am a broken record but I am so tired of the snow and cold. OK truth be told I am even more tired of seeing so many bloggers in pretty spring dresses while I am still wearing boots and sweaters. Two things I love in September and October but not so much in April. Trying to force a little sunshine into my life with Yellow Window Pane Pants and Fluorescent accents.
Spring in Ottawa
Here is a fun fact for you, driving down my street one might feel like they live in a border town. Because of the way the sun rises and sets all the homes on one side of the street have front yards filled with snow. Yet on my side our front yards are finally snow free. It is such a funny phenomena. Mind you there back yards are probably clear and mine is not but ahh, at least the front feels like Spring may soon be here.
Yellow Window Pant Pants
I found these pants at Joe Fresh, I was going to say last year until I checked out the blog and realized it was 2015. Seriously I wore these in 2015, that is a bad sign when you think something is only a year old. Age is fast creeping up here. Thankfully I checked and I did wear them in 2016 and 2017 t, twice! , each slightly different. That’s pretty sad when you think about it, four years of ownership and only the fifth time in the spotlight. I actually love these pants but apparently my closet my be a bit overstuffed if I do not wear something more than once a year on average. Sure saves on wear and tear and dry cleaning.
Are you a clothes hound or a minimalist? I realize most of us share outfits because we have a love of clothes but are you better than me? Do you actually control the buying urge slightly?
Shoes and my room
I didn’t think I was over the top until I posted a time hop picture two days ago of my Shoe Room/den. Who knew everyone I work with not those in my life do not all own shoe rooms. And this was three years ago so it quite possibly has grown. Another fun fact when I moved to Ottawa 11 years ago I left a ton and i literally mean a ton of shoes behind. Good lord imagine what that room would look like if I did not cull each year. Tell me where do you store everything?
Breaking Down my Look
Shopping my closet and everything old is new again. Window pane pants from Joe Fresh paired with a neon yellow tank from the Gap ( I also use to have a blue one that has vanished). I topped it off with a tweed sweater from Van Heusen and my Yosa UK Necklace. Forever 21 grey boots complete the look. So everything here is at least 3 years old some pieces are even older but I have found a few similar styles in case you like this look.
