If you have been watching the Canadian News you will have heard that Ottawa has been experiencing extreme rain conditions and flooding. 1920’s is the last time this region has felt anything similar. Today we got a slight reprieve (and by today I mean Tuesday). Broke out the summer Old Navy Linens to start pretending to celebrate Spring.
Chez Garage
Torrential downpours and a forecast of rain, rain and more rain was throwing a real wrench in my plans. Two bands descending on the house for five days. What the heck were we going to do with 12 guys and two girls for this many days. Chez Garage was created as I mentioned last week. We brought all the outdoor tables into the garage and created a club setting.
It worked perfectly, in the evenings after the shows they all went to the garage for a few ( or many) drinks. In the morning ( meaning afternoon) when they got up they all had breakfast in the garage. It worked out perfectly, plus sound proof. I was pleasantly surprised that the noise blockers in the garage worked really well.
Chez Garage may be a regular thing in bad weather.
Final Supper
Sunday Night,we were down to just the Honest Heart Collective, managers and Girlfriend. Numbers still totaled eleven so we re-arranged again and created a long banquet table. The dining room would have held us all, but the ambiance of the garage just worked. Pasta dinner and some red wine as a good bye dinner. The temperature was still a little cool but it all worked well. Our boys have left but the weather still sucks, we need it to warm up so we can put the furniture back outside.
That is a cat in the chair, Lou is an important member of the family and wanted to visit with the boys. She enjoys sitting at the table with us.
The Outfit
Today, I said to heck with the forecast, it is May 9th and I want to celebrate Spring. The day called for an Old Navy look with the line cropped pants and blazer I discovered last year. Topped with a fun peplum cami I just ordered and a pair of red converse. An anchor necklace was the perfect “anchor” to the outfit.

We used to have parties in our garage—I think it’s quite brilliant! Besides, it’s the one time it gets cleaned out…ha ha!
