We are getting a weather reprieve, its like Indian Summer except its in the winter leading to spring. Boy oh boy not even sure if I should use that expression anymore. Is it still appropriate. J’Adore the weather regardless of correctness.
Indian summer is a period of unseasonably warm, dry weather that sometimes occurs in autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. The US National Weather Service defines this as weather conditions that are sunny and clear with above normal temperatures, occurring late-September to mid-November. It is usually described as occurring after a killing frost. So we are having unseasnable warm in February and I am not complaining but I am a little paranoid about using the phrase.
I am on an Oppression Training Session and while it is an amazing course it does have me a little leary about using words, expressions. Key today for me was discovering the difference between ethnic oppression and racism. It was a fascinating day. Now I know I stay away from the serious usually on the blog but in light of world happenings educating oneself on racism seems to be a necessity.
Today was a full day of discovery, realizing how one can affect the well being of others without malice and intent but it can still affect them negatively. Oppression is not always intentional but it is always harmful, maybe not today or tomorrow but it is an insidious feeling that will always create harm.
Now true confession I was totally dreading the course, not because I disbelieve in the principles nor was it because I do not like learning. I resisted because it was mandatory and because there has been some bad crap happening amoungst coworkers and colleagues and I expected it to be a disaster. Having a great facilitator ensured this did not happen, so today was a good day
Opted for a comfy, casual outfit and a chance to wear another awesome necklace from 7 Charming Sisters. Pulled out my Old Navy Joggers I had not worn in awhile and paired them with my J-adore Tee and a Moto Jacket,
