Breaking it down:
Social Media: Facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest, tumblr, four square, snapchat you name it I have tried it. I am a bit of a social media addict. There I have said it, that is the first step to recovery isn’t it?? Actually I do not want to recover yet so let’s move on to how it has affected me. The down side is I do spend a lot of hours each day on the various forums but on a very positive side it has allowed me to maintain contact with family, friends and even acquaintances. I was the worlds worst letter writer, actually I was not bad at writing the letters but I was god awful at mailing them, now I just have to hit send…. yea
Facebook use to be my game friend but I limit that now to Castleville. Bubble Safari, youville, farmville, if there was a ville I was on it. Life was becoming consumed with crops, cafes and puzzles. My focus changed to friends and family and discovered it allows me to keep in touch with everyone and reconnect with many old friends. Facebook was/is also a great way for my world to keep up with me, all my fb friends will tell you I am genius at keeping my life out there. I am not a creeper as I post more then I look most days. Today I find facebook is my blogging bestfriend. I share and follow and discover new friends every day, plus it is a great referral agent. I get the majority of my blog traffic from facebook. ( reconnect with this media)
Instagram was my fashion and shoe blog for the longest time until i realized not everyone wanted to see what shoes I am wearing on a daily basis so I switched to blogging. I realized you need Instagram for blogging and I have rediscovered there are lots of people that want to see my shoes, and my drinks and a whole lot of other pretty pictures.
Twitter is how I use to maintain contact with my celebrity side and send random thoughts out to the world. Present Day, I now believe this is my favourite way of connecting with my adult children, their generation still loves twitter. I am honestly starting to really be hooked on 140 letters.
Pinterest is a blast for me and again it reflects all of who I am and who I want to be, it is as eclectic as I am. This medium is my planning and dreaming forum, a place to gather and save all of my hopes, dreams and plans
Blogging
As for blogging, originally I started a blog as a way to keep me honest on my diet, well that lasted like a week. Fast forward another year and I tried again, diet monitoring is not a good reason to blog at least not for me. Then I tried using it to vent at people, those I did not really want to yell at in person due to the more acquaintance type of relationship we shared.
I moved past the rants and decided that I would make a concentrated effort to maintain a blog, I wanted a blog that represented all of me. Take a meander through my posts, fashion, food, travel music, crafts and just random thoughts that pop into my head. My blog is my diary, but one that I am willing to share. There is no lock on this diary of mine.
So has all of this changed me, only in such a way that I take a whole lot of selfies, meet a ton of awesome people and freed me up to share how to fold a napkin, sip a wine or bake a cookie. Let’s not forget the outfits either because that is and shall always be my daily indulgence.
It also appears to be little Lou’s daily indulgence as well, she loves being on the computer as much as I do
And as a bonus by George I think I finally got the blog working, so what do you think? Now time for a fun OOTD
OOTD
Banana Republic Pineapple Dress, Forever 21 Sweater and Shoe Dazzle Boots plus my Yosa Necklace. This is a fun example of taking a summer dress and make it totally winter appropriate. All your clothes can break the ” season mold” the way most of us try and break the “age” mold. Plus fruit is a real thing, pineapple, apple, cheery, lemons all make perfect sense on a dress.

I totally understand your comments. It is so time consuming. I do get a lot of blog referrals from facebook and pinterest though so they are really worth checking. I need more hours in a day to get back to reading my fav blogs. PS congrats your were my first comment on my new WP site so Thank you

Your pineapple dress is so fun! 🙂 I like all of the navy with it too 🙂
I don’t use social media often – I used to spend a lot of time on it! Now I only check instagram a couple of times a day, and I hardly ever check facebook, just log in to check my notifications and that’s it really. I do love blogging though, I always wish there was more time in the day for it as I’d do lots of cool things if I had the time. I’m happy with just blogging when I can though, it’s a fun hobby 🙂
Hope you are having a really good week 🙂
