Tis the season of Holiday parties and a struggle to find what to wear.  Honestly how many times during this season do you cry you have nothing to wear? Or look in the closet and see something you thought would be perfect but now not not so much.  Over the years I have amassed quite the collection of dressy pieces.  Gold dresses, Sequin Dresses, sequin tops, sequin leggings, tulle skirts. You Name it I probably own it.

Holiday Style in Sequins and Tulle

During this pre-Thanksgiving week I thought it would be fun to look at some past holiday looks. Discovering over the years that a few key pieces can doll up any look. My first selection is a black sequin Tee. It is so versatile and can take you to many an event.

First up I wore it over a sleeveless black jumpsuit. A Fall wedding look dressed down with a moto and then jazzed up with a fancy necklace.

As a fun alternative I wore the Sequin Tee over a long sleeve t-shirt. Add a cute plaid skirt and leggings and I was set for our Christmas Open house. Dressed up yet still totally comfortable.

Own this Sequin tee or similar

Black Tulle Skirt is a Must Own

Next up on my “have in your closet” key piece is a black tulle skirt. Honestly I have worn this to the office, to a wedding and to a party. Dress it up or dress it down.  No matter how you wear black tulle, you will feel pretty.  It’s the piece you will own that is a true feel good piece.

Own a moto jacket, leather or wool? Throw it on over top of your tulle skirt and you have Biker Princess.  Try ballerina flats, or a moto boot. Anything works as long as you feel great. My preference is an almost ankle length skirt but hey what’s your preference?

The Best Black Tulle Skirts

Red Tulle Skirt for Contrast

Next up no surprise is a Red Tulle skirt.  Weren’t expecting that were you? Well as much as Black is the new Black a pop of colour still works.  A vibrant red tulle skirt for Christmas or Valentines is the pop you need.

Again a Moto and leopard boots will create a fun dressy yet casual look or sweater and heels.  I have tried both and cannot pick a favourite.

You need a Red Tulle Skirt

My Final Key Piece Sequin Leggings

I picked up my first pair of sequin leggings at H&Ma few years ago.  Honestly I had no idea if I would even wear them but they were so pretty.  Fast forward and I discovered they can go where ever I want them too. During an Open house I wore them under my leather dress.  A comfy and fun outfit.

One small warning sequin leggings can shed. I swear I found sequins all over the house the next day.  No matter still worth having to sweep constantly.

An even crazier look, with a tunic and converse for a casual New Years at home. It’s the statement piece that allows you to instantly convert any look. I was perfectly comfy but felt in the true spirit of the evening. Best piece of advise find an inexpensive pair and give them a test run.  Did you know you can pick up your own leggings for the price of a couple Vente caramel Macchiato drinks.  Ok may three or four drinks but hey totally worth the cost trust me.

Sequin Leggings that are Affordable

The Four Key Piece You need to own for the Holiday Season

So let’s recap the four pieces you need to own:

  1. Sequin leggings because hey every gal needs a little sparkle
  2. a black sequin tee or cami, again more sparkle and better than a plain LBD
  3. Black Tulle skirt because we all have an inner princess
  4. Red tulle skirt because every inner princess has a wild side.

Sequence are always fun to have especially if you have somewhere festive to be. I love the red tulle skirt and specifically the snowstorm picture of you, so authentic. Looks like you already have everything in your closet for a fun holiday season ahead.
