Happy Monday, and can I start with it’s been a crazy last week. Hellish trip to Whitehorse which turned into a successful work week but exhausting. I then flew home to a weekend filled with activities but folks I think I have my grove back. Well at least I hope so, proof is in the post right? Had some prep time Sunday to get my Monday post ready because I have a date. Going to leave this fun Blue Gingham Peplum for you to admire while I enjoy a dae night with Kent.
The Date
Kent’s birthday is today ( or tomorrow as I write this) and we are heading off on a staycation. We are heading to Le Germain Hotel here in Ottawa for a fun stay. If you remember we went to the grand opening back in late June and now we get to test out the rooms. Can not wait to experience the beds and the linens I was raving about earlier. Inst Stories may be full if Kent is Ok wit some public sharing. Heck we know he’s OK with it, so stay tuned for our night in review.
The Look in Blue Gingham Peplum
Now point of clarification I may or may not be wearing this on my date. OK most likely I am not because I found a cute new top in Whitehorse I want to wear but the temperature may be too warm. Summer is still alive and well in Ottawa. Today’s Blue Gingham Peplum cami was an online deal I found I think last year. It was supposed to be a replacement for another top I already had but instead they are both still in rotation.
The Gingham pairs nicely with the striped linen pants/capris I also found years ago at Old Navy. They are the perfect summer pant. A similarly striped Linen Blazer, Fedora and converse complete this summer look. I feel this is the perfect work or fun look. Great for the office yet summery and fun enough for a date. Would you wear this to work and a Date?
Last Week
I had such great intentions last week. I uploaded all my pictures, had about 8 blog posts I was going to work on. Plus a brought two blog courses I have been working on to complete. Instead a trip from hell threw it all out the window. It’s crazy how one awful 16 hour travel day can create a week of turmoil. Plus there is a three hour time difference so I was tired in the evenings. I was supposed to arrive Tuesday night but did not get there till Wednesday at 11:00.
Plus spending three hours waiting for luggage to never arrive, no room at the inn and delayed flights just did not have me in the blog post writing mood. No matter I am back and rested and ready to get back to normal. Happy new work week ( and let’s hope next week’s trip to Yellowknife allows a tad more blogging time. )
