Summer in the Capital or otherwise known as the SEason of Festivals.  Honestly, Ottawa is world renowned for all its amazing music festivals.  And leading the pack is the Ottawa Bluesfest, one of the top 10 outdoor festivals in the world.  I know most bloggers are searching festival fashions around the Coachella experience but here we have Bluesfest.  Head to the festival and Bluesfest Fashion Statements are everywhere.  Why would I be any different right?

Bluesfest Fashion Statements

In 2007 when we first came to Ottawa and I just attended Bluesfest, stylish but comfy was the norm.  I didn’t think to much about practical just what looked good. Fast forward to working the festival and the uniform changed completely, steel toes, tanks, hard hats were the staple for the beginning.  Fashion statements were not really encouraged because volunteers were expected to comply with their standard.

Well now I am back to having fun, attending to listen and enjoy not to work.  I am back on track with being me.  Thursday we went to Passenger and Bryan Adams, ok actually we only went to Passenger but I heard Bryan as we were leaving. I loved looking at what everyone was wearing. Young girls all dressed the same cut off shorts small cami’s or tanks and converse or vans.  Never a bag just a phone in their hand and id in their back pocket.   There were tons of cool looks though. I actually saw one woman in heels OMG.

My Bluesfest Fashions

My look is eclectic but me, it may change depending on the day but there are a few essentials.  I am a sneakers gal, no sandals for me because I value my toes too much.  Two points there protecting my toes and I could be there and standing for hours, so I have discovered over the years a sneaker and a sock are best. Lightweight pants are also the norm, light enough not to suffer in the heat but they offer protection in the evening.  Cool winds and mosquitos are always an irritant.

Add a fun tank, a lightweight linen cover and a fedora and you have my fav look.  Today’s look was designed by a local fashion designer Kania.  She designed an entire Bluesfest Fashion line a few years ago and I picked up a few pieces.  Fun and practical for a day out in the elements listening to music. Plus let’s not forget the keyboard earrings. My new addition for 2018 based on the new security rules a 12 by 12 clear plastic bag.  Mine is from the College Football Hall of Fame but it was the perfect size plus it has a shoulder strap and handles. Stay tuned for what I actually pack in this bag,

What is your go to festival look?

That is an awesome festival look! Loving the tee shirt and the keyboard earrings in particular. I spent a lot of time at festivals in the past, now I cant be bothered to deal with the heat. But I still adore my festival fashion, and wear it for lunching, shopping, etc. I’ve been eyeballing Converse since May, but have put off buying till the fall. I like sporting my sandal collection while the sun shines. However, Imma do those Converse All Star Lift in canvas for fall, I think. Haven’t chosen a color yet, but you’re looking so great here, I might just go with the black ones.

I haven’t gone to a fest in a long time. When I did go to festival I would wear a summer dress or jeans with t-shirt. Loving your pants.

I love your classic black and white look – as it’s so fun with those striped pants! 🙂

I can’t even remember the last time I went to a festival, haha!

Hope you are having a lovely start to your week! It’s a cold one here in Brisbane!

I love the outfit! In 2007 I styled some of the bands that were showcased there. Who did you go see there this year??
