Apparently I have a few Holiday favourite apparel items and this dress may be what I call my Happy Canada Day dress. In fact when I checked out my 2015 Canada Day outfit it just may have featured this dress … what the heck… a blogger re-wearing the same outfit.
Actually new Canada Day shoes and a fun necklace so maybe a whole new look right? Do you think its possible to overdo the patriotic look? Nah, never possible as long as you are having fun with your look.
CanadianPride
I love showing my #canadianpride and have always been one to fly the flag all year round. Its one of the things I have always been most envious of my American Neighbours. Those born in the US have always been proud of who they are and where they come from. Canadians are proud too, we just do not seem to be able to show it as boldly.
Close to Canada Day, July 1st one can always find a selection of Canadian merchandise but until very recently finding it any other time of the year has been tough. I have always loved driving through the states and seeing the homes decked out in red, white and blue, no matter the time of year. They can get flags, banners, bunting.. you name it, it seems readily available. In Canada it has been traditional to fly your colours on the day of our birth and then push the spirit down until the next birthday happens. I love that we seem to be taking a page from our American cousins and now it is something to take pride in. Fly your flags proudly is the new motto.
Canadian Decor
This year has been crazy I barely had time to get the yard decorated. Plus the rain has not stopped long enough for pictures. I was cleaning up getting ready for my company and I realized my dining room was set for Fathers Day still. No fun Canada Table like 2016 yet. Hopefully I will find time before tomorrow.
The front porch is feeling fun and festive though.
