Happy Tuesday and let’s just shake off this day shall we. Tell yourself ten seconds Linda. You can get through everything in ten seconds. Ever have one of those days where you want to scream and maybe quit but you know you don’t really mean it? Today was that day. I wanted the ability to scream I quit but then get my mulligan where I could still return as if nothing happened. Yep that kind of day.
Day from….and Ten Seconds
Let’s just get the day out of my system shall we, maybe my frustration will help yours. I dont often talk work, hardly ever at all but today I want to vent. A day where my faith and believe in people doing right was shattered. I experienced just a tad too much “entitlement syndrome” and it was disturbing.
Why do people volunteer and pretend to be for the overall good and not mean it. When did the world become more about what’s in it for me? Working in an area where the greater good of all is supposed to matter, makes selfishness all the more frustrating.
What has happened to the days where people put their hand up to help just because. I want those days back, Days when helping mattered not what was in it for you. Today we live in a world where how something benefits you is the raison d’etre. You want to travel to earn points, you want to stay in a hotel to earn points, put in for meals you con’t eat and all while convincing yourself you are on the side of right.
Well today I wanted to call you out, and that’s when I realized I needed a ten second time out. tonight I got a reminder from a dear friend 10 seconds. You can get through anything in ten second increments and I realized they were right.
Royal Blue Cardigan from GT
The outfit today has been pick me up combination suit. A tee Dress, comfy cardigan, tights and boots. I stay warm, comfortable and still look fashionable. The sweater was a find from Giant Tiger, the colour and the style make it a noteworthy. I always feel bright and happy.
Wearing it over a Banana Republic Tee Dress and tights creates an outfit that I stay comfortable in.Today I actually wore this to the office so I added my Skecher Wedges and my look book necklace.
This combination has been a consistent and a constant on the blog, normally on travel days. It has been a snow day look, and a spring look and it has even taken me to Whitehorse,

I love this shade of blue on you, Linda! And I hear you on being disappointed in people. I have been feeling that way too frequently these days. I guess I need a 10 second time out, too! Thanks for linking up.

First, I love your outfit. There is just something wonderful about black and royal blue together. Well done!
As for the work / entitlement / selfishness issue, I was thinking about this a couple of days ago. It seems that society has been brainwashed by the idea that “greed is good,” and that something is only worth doing if you profit from it. I was feeling guilty about the fact that my hobbies don’t make money, but are a constant cost. Why should I feel bad about that? Besides, I hate selling!!! Last summer, I started a new hobby – crocheting – and I make blankets for Project Linus. This makes me feel good. Anyway, that was kind of rambling…. I hope you have a better day tomorrow.
