Learning to be confident might feel like it is an unachievable goal but it doesn’t have to be. We live in a society right now that benefits from you thinking that you need to change, and that there are certain things you have to do in order to feel confident.
Some people feel as that confidence is tied to looks or money, but that isn’t true. Today I thought I would share a few tips I have used on the road to confidence. Interested in becoming more confident?
Consider Your Style
The first thing that we are going to focus on is style. Start with what you consider your style. While being confident isn’t all about the way that you look, for some people it’s important. If you don’t look your best, then you’re not going to feel your best.
As such, it’s important to consider the things that you wear and the way you style yourself in general. For example, if you are wearing clothes that hang off of you, it’s like you’re trying to hide something. Wear the clothes that make you feel good, and don’t care what anyone has to say about it.
You should also think about your hair and makeup if you wear it. If your hair is a big thing for you, then focus on the look and feel of your hair. Personally if I don’t feel great about my hair I have a blah day. Take time even during lockdown to style your locks and put on makeup. In this world of zoom calls your hair and face is all we really see.
Not confident on styling techniques? You might want to consider using a blowout curling iron to create the perfect style to match your new look. And, if you wear makeup, then look online to find some tutorials that show you how to accentuate your natural beauty.
Drink Enough Water
Another thing that you should be doing is drinking enough water. This will help your skin to glow, and make you feel all around better. For a lot of people, drinking two liters of water per day seems like an uphill battle, but drinking seven cups of coffee before midday seems doable.
I recommend that you try swapping out some of these coffee cups for cups of water to help you meet your goal. When you are hydrated, you are going to feel far better than you do otherwise, and water is the best thing that you can drink.
Know Your Worth
Finally, if you know your worth, you’re going to be able to feel confident. Don’t listen to what anyone else has to say because you are perfect the way that you are. Once you realize this, everything else is going to fall into place. You are worthy simply because you are alive, and nothing that anyone does can change this.
If I could talk to my younger self — that girl desperate for love and therefore often blinded by ideas, fabrications and untruths in order to try and capture it, I’d tell her:
“Linda, love will come to you, when you learn to love yourself, first and foremost”.
Learning to be confident doesn’t actually have to be that hard. All it takes is some dedication, and the realization that you are enough exactly as you are.
