Happy Hump Day and I hate to say it but welcome August. Where has the summer gone, I know I have said it before but honestly where? So serious topic today, how do you blog? But first things first, finally got some decent shots of this amazing H&M Yellow Sundress. Is this not the most summery, sunshiny dress? and Hello lemon shoes to make it really pop. If you follow me on inst you will note I tried to share this dress last week. The humidity totally ruined my pictures, who knew a camera lens could get some steamed up? I guess those of you who live in higher humidity areas deal with this regularly.
Disclosure, I do use a few affiliate links to help guide you towards the things I wear, use and love. Point being if eventually I can make a few dollars than I can invest it back into the blog right. I only link to what I truly love and what I think you will love too.
Blog Schedules and Finding Time
I may finally be a true convert. Skeptical is my middle name so all those posts about creating a blog schedule have just gone in my head and back out again. Time is totally killing me know, between Social Media, editing pictures, taking courses and real life I feel like I have been scrambling. Last night I was so worried about my Fashion post going live on time, I posted all pictures and just an opening sentence. Talk about lazy or stressful, not sure which.
I apparently was more concerned with coinciding with Instagram and a few linkups that I did not initially take the time to create a post worth reading. That is a true quantity over quality moment. Or I could have claimed a wordless Wednesday moment uz it is Hump Day. So tell me truthfully do schedulers really help? I suppose a time management schedule would seriously assist in finding proper balance but what about blog schedules?
I post what I want when I want with the exception of a few sponsored posts that need to be live on a date. How effective has this been though? My believe is if I focus more on a proper schedule and time management that may help me more than all the courses in the world. I get the SEO, I follow the rules but maybe the page numbers are low because I am so erratic on the content?
Post Addiction
Post addiction is a real thing with me, I have tried to change to a three times a week or every other day but it doesn’t work. I love sharing each day so I need to make that work for me. My blog seems to be feeling the effects of my recent niche issues. I don’t want to be a fashion blogger or a food blogger ot a craft blogger, I want to be a Linda blogger. As much as I say that though I cannot stop posting the outfit posts, which leads me back to people thinking I am a fashion blogger (or outfit blogger). There is nothing wrong with being a fashion blogger but I need to figure how to better balance it all out. Balance without sacrifice is that even possible?
Instagram is the Easy Answer
Here is the shocker of the day, Instagram would be an easy out for me. I could stop posting outfit looks here and only use Instagram for that and turn the blog into everything else. Instagram is not my blog though. Ironically Instagram and outfits is also the reason I turned to blogging in the first place. I thought sharing outfits on blogs would mean my instagram account would resume being a daily life picture, who knew ( not me). So bottom line is I want my blog to be me. I am Theme, or the image so I need to chill out and let this journey take me wherever. Stop focusing on the numbers and start or re-start looking at the what, the why and the when.
Large captions on Instagram do not capture my attention, I have seen many a blogger I love turn to Instagram and stop blogging. Truth be told if you share more that a few lines on Inst, I am not reading so the message is not coming through. If you want to read, head over to your blog and start writing. Now that honestly is just me, I get it but Instagram is Instant, I scroll I stop I like and comment and I move on and FYI, your picture does not need to be perfect, it just needs to be you. (Also not a flat lay of your outfit, just you in the outfit please.
Blogger Scheduling Help
So enough of my slight rant and random thoughts but if you have a schedule, or a plan I would love to hear about it. For now I am going back to pen and paper and going to start planning my days. Setting established times for social, for sharing and yes even for editing and creating. It’s called Balance and I AM WOMAN, HEAR ME ROAR, I have got this. I think.

“I just want to be a Linda blogger.” What a wonderful line! I spent a while blogging before I recognized that I loved posting outfit pictures but I wanted to write about more than just fashion. The more comfortable I’ve been in settling into that “me” niche the better my work as become and the more I see people responding to my work. I also could give up Instagram. I spend more time on my blog now, and it is so satisfying. That being said I still do use Instagram, but I see it as a marketing tool, not a replacement of my blog. Love the bright yellow dress, it is so you!

First let me just say, I love that yellow sundress and lemon shoes but then you pulled out the chucks and it made it! Love the look and your adorable.
My blog is considered a “lifestyle” blog. I like to blog about everything. haha. I usually will just sit down and blog when a subject pops up. Out of the blues, something will come up that I want to blog about and will just jot the subject down in my little phone notes. Then when I get a chance, Ill sit down and tell about it. I sometime it can be more than one idea so that’s when I may have some scheduled to post. A lot of times I cant think of a thing to write about. I recently have decided to do 3 post a week so I can balance the rest of my life out in between.

sounds like you have a great routine down. I keep trying to reduce the amount of days I post but I think I am addicted to it.
